Traditional Chinese double-boiled soup specialist practicing ancient TCM wellness philosophy, serving therapeutic broths with premium ingredients and medicinal herbs.
煲汤之道 Bao Tang Zhi Dao Anchorvale Village represents traditional Chinese double-boiled soup culture within Singapore newest hawker centre, specializing in therapeutic and nutritional soups that embody the essence of Traditional Chinese Medicine wellness philosophy. The name translates to The Way of Soup Making, reflecting their dedication to preserving ancient Chinese culinary and medicinal practices through slow-cooked, nutrient-dense broths that promote health and vitality. Their presence at Anchorvale Village demonstrates the continued relevance of traditional Chinese wellness culture in modern Singapore dining environments.
The signature double-boiling technique involves placing carefully selected ingredients in ceramic pots within larger vessels of boiling water, allowing for indirect heat cooking that can extend for several hours. This gentle, patient method preserves the qi (vital energy) and medicinal properties of herbs, bones, and premium ingredients while creating deeply flavorful broths that serve both nutritional and therapeutic purposes. Menu offerings likely include traditional combinations such as ginseng chicken soup, cordyceps duck soup, bird nest with rock sugar, and seasonal herbal combinations that align with Traditional Chinese Medicine principles for maintaining bodily balance and promoting longevity.
Bao Tang Zhi Dao serves Singapore Chinese community by maintaining cultural traditions that emphasize food as medicine, where properly prepared soups contribute to overall health and wellness rather than merely satisfying hunger. Their location within Anchorvale Village Hawker Centre provides convenient access to authentic Chinese wellness cuisine for families seeking nutritious meal options that support traditional health practices. The establishment bridges ancient Chinese culinary wisdom with contemporary dining convenience, ensuring future generations can continue accessing traditional double-boiled soups that represent thousands of years of Chinese culinary and medicinal knowledge in modern hawker settings.
Had today's (Monday) speciality - winter melon pork ribs soup. @ $5 nice and light, fantastically boiled.
Love that I am not 'craving' for water (immediately) after!
Will be back again!

Highly recommend their soups (tried winter melon and mushroom fish maw) as well as their yam and pumpkin rice :)

Had ABC soup takeaway, taste very good., like home made. No feeling of MSG. Meat in the soup was soft and all other ingredients are nice. Owner also gave generous serving of soup. Pumpkin rice is nice too. Will be coming back to try other soups.

Recommended by my colleague.
Bought this "Ten tonic Herbal Chicken Soup" (black chicken).
Actually there are 2 options of chicken - Black or White as per your preference.
1st sip of soup is not salty but natural herbs fragnance & no MSG. Half part of the chicken is given & quite meaty, not skinny type. You may find the herbs ingredients in the soup like dang gui, red dates, dry longan etc.
As for the yam rice, I like the taste, ingredients & fragnance which reminds me of my mum's cooking. The rice is well steamed, not sticky or dry & can chew every rice in your mouth. You may find dry shrimps, white cabbage, white yam (soft), black mushrooms + fried shallots oil which lifted the taste.
I felt so good after tasting it and finish all. Really thumb up 👍
I also tried a sip of Mushroom Fish Maw Chicken soup (佛跳墙) which my colleague ordered. Double thumbs up! Thicker soup base, a big chicken drum stick with many ingredients in it.
I definitely will go back to try more other soups from this stall again.
Note: the stall will close on every Thursday so don't say I never share!
Enjoy your soup, yam rice or pumpkin rice when you're patronise this stall.

Had the lotus soup, the rice portion was huge! Attentive packaging for takeaway, they wrapped the soup container to prevent leakage.

Good soup for its price point! Their Buddha fish maw soup is only $7 plus which is in fact better than most places selling at abv 9 bucks. Highly recommended.

Really good yam and pumpkin rice options. Soup is really hearty and comes with so much ingredients such as dried scallop and dried oysters. No MSG so really tastes homemade and hearty. Lady boss manning the counter is really friendly and enthusiastic. They offer free soup refills and even give extra garnish top up for the refill which surprised me. Do come down and try!

Due to child not feeling well, we wanted soup but the Soup Master in Seletar Mall had closed, but thanks to this I got to try this stall after searching in Google map with good reviews. So within 2 days we tried most of their soups. All pork ribs soups are very nice, the ribs have plenty of soft bones, and soup is clear but flavourful.
Buddha over wall soup is nice but chicken would be dry.
pumpkin and yam rice are good also.
when tabao, they are meticulous to wrap with a layer of wrap.

Loved their lotus root pork ribs soup. The pork ribs are not excessively fatty and they didn't skimp on the ingredients. The soup tastes clean and not oily.

On a rainy day like today, 煲汤之道's hearty peppery pork belly soup hit the spot perfectly. The soup was packed with flavor and the pumpkin rice was a delicious bonus - wholesome and perfect with the soup! I'll definitely be back for more!

Ordered the Old Winter Melon soup with a bowl of Yam Rice. Soup was cook with old winter melon and very soft bone ribs. It’s just like eating collagen bones. It was clear, not oily and the saltiness is just right. The Yam Rice is authentic, natural tasting and I really enjoyed as well.

Had the pig stomach soup with gingko nuts.
Served piping hot. Soup smells really good, taste even better. Slightly pepperish and it did not overwhelm. So good indeed.
Quite a good amount of the pig stomach slices and about 5 gingko nuts. Quite worth it I would say.
Shiok! Need a good boiled soup can try this.

Tried the locust pork soup, and it was absolutely delicious! The broth was rich and flavorful, and there was a generous amount of tender pork. Every sip was comforting and satisfying. Definitely a place I’ll be coming back to!

My first time trying watercress soup. The meat was so tender and it was way surpassed the big brand soup in the market. Today I'm going for 2nd round. The pumpkin rice was nice, fragrance, with dried shrimp and a generous amount of pumpkin with mushrooms. The price was reasonable. Today must try yam rice with lotus soup. ❤️❤️ Both the boss are friendly..
