Ordered chicken thigh curry. Curry flavor was robust. Bread were soaking up the goodness of the curry gravy so well. Just a bit spicy, not choking. Potatoes were super soft. Overall a good meal. Price: $6.30 (after FairPrice app discount)

Honest review:
-Curry: very fragrant and delightful to drink, slightly less thick than those typical nyonya curry, I finished the whole bowl of curry.
-Chicken: slides off the bone, not the most tender but still very good, I wish they gave more than 2 pieces.
-Potato: pairs very well with the curry and chicken.
-Rice: must finish every bit of it with the curry!
-Price: $6.70 (before kopitiam discount) for whole leg with rice is a little pricey but I’ll still eat it regularly.
9/10, easily one of the best curries I’ve eaten in a while 👍

Absolutely delicious plate of chicken cutlet curry here. Curry has that "homely" taste and also comes with a nice bit of spice. The chicken cutlery is beautifully fried and also has a good crisp to it. 10/10 will recommend.

Curry Cravings at Anchorvale Village: A Taste of Nanyang Nostalgia I spotted Nanyang Curry at Anchorvale Village today, and the “Homemade Curry” sign immediately caught my eye. There’s something about that phrase simple, bold, and full of promise. I’d heard whispers that this was the same beloved Nanyang Curry from Yishun Park Hawker Centre, now revived by the founder’s daughter. That alone was enough to pique my curiosity.
Walking into the shop, I was greeted by a cozy, no-frills space a humble spot where the focus is clearly on the food. The staff were friendly, and the atmosphere had that comforting, typical hawker stall vibe. It felt like the kind of place where people come for the food, not the frills.
On a mission, I stepped up and ordered the Curry Chicken Chop Rice (Full Piece) for just $6.50 no holding back for my first try. When the plate arrived, it looked great, but the chicken chop wasn’t as crispy as I’d hoped. It also wasn’t as juicy, and the whole dish was a little on the colder side.
That said, the curry was the real star. The richness of the sauce, with just the right amount of spice, immediately hit the spot. It wasn’t overly creamy or greasy just deep, comforting flavors that made me want to drown my rice in it. The chicken might not have been perfect, but that curry kept me coming back for more bites.
For $6.50, it wasn’t a bad meal, but I’d probably give it another try to see if the consistency improves. Next time, I’m eyeing the Curry Chicken Whole Leg hoping for a juicier, more flavorful experience, and a chance to truly savor that curry!

I instantly fell in love with the thick pasty curry and I believe the owner use milk instead.
I would say their curry has the taste that is unique to them. Delectable Hainanese-style curry chicken.
Unfortunately they were not able to roast the bread as it was my first time trying.

Tucked away in the corner of this new hawker, I had hoped the food would be served piping hot and maybe offered as a set meal with a choice of meat and curry vegetables. The curry itself was flavorful and comforting, though the chicken could have used more seasoning. The curry vegetables were nicely done, cooked until tender, and the toasted bread was crispy and satisfying.

Polite stall owners! Ordered the curry chicken chop rice, and it was absolutely delicious! The chicken was crispy, the curry rich and flavorful. Comfort food, very satisfying!

Curry was creamy and yet not too thick, so it goes perfect with white rice. It was savoury with nicely balanced saltiness and sweetness. The potatoes were tender and fluffy, so it was really easy to eat. The not so positive thing I would say is the chicken. It was slightly chewy and tough. I think it needs to be cooked a bit longer. Portions wise, it was just about right.

Curry Chicken Chop Rice @ Nanyang Curry
This curry is uniquely chinese, it doesn’t have the strong complex spice of the Indian varieties, nor the sweetness of Japanese, but it’s pretty close to the tze-char style ones, that is to say, a little creamy, spicy and savoury.
The amount of curry was generous, and the chicken chop(cutlet?) was fried very well, a very crisp layer on top of tender meat, it’s already pretty good on it’s own but with the curry? It’s great!
That being said, the taste is quite monotonous and could get quite gelat. Thankfully a half-size chicken chop is also available. The one pictured here is full sized.
The price is also pretty decent from what you get, and anyone craving Chinese-style curry would be happy with this. Personal bias too because it tastes alot like the one my
mom makes.

The Anchorvale hawker center is up and running!
I am excited to know my favourite nanyang curry has been found. Previously they were at Yishun Part hawker but suddenly closed down. When i saw this at the new hawker, i needed to satisfy my curry chicken craving.
The curry sauce is so good. Thick and fragrance. It goes so well with rice or bread. The chicken wing is chunky and the potato omg. Best.
The whole dinning experience was great.
I love this so much.
