Authentic Hong Kong-style chee cheong fun serving silky steamed rice noodle rolls with traditional fillings, umami soy sauce, and genuine Cantonese dim sum preparation.
Hong Kong Style Chee Cheong Fun brings authentic Cantonese rice noodle roll tradition to Anchorvale Village Hawker Centre, specializing in silky smooth steamed rice sheets filled with various ingredients and served with traditional accompaniments. This establishment maintains genuine Hong Kong preparation methods, creating delicate rice noodle rolls with characteristic smooth, slippery texture achieved through careful steaming techniques that require skilled craftsmanship. Their commitment to authenticity ensures customers experience traditional dim sum culture, featuring classic fillings and sauces that represent centuries of Cantonese culinary heritage preserved within Singapore diverse food landscape.
The menu showcases traditional chee cheong fun varieties including shrimp-filled rolls, char siu (barbecued pork) combinations, and vegetarian options that demonstrate the versatility of this beloved Cantonese dish. Hong Kong-style preparation features umami-rich soy sauce dressings with fried onions, distinguishing it from Singapore-adapted versions that typically include sweet gravy and sesame seeds. Traditional accompaniments include light soy sauce blends, sesame oil drizzles, and chopped scallions that enhance rather than mask the delicate rice noodle flavors, allowing customers to appreciate authentic Cantonese dim sum preparation techniques.
Hong Kong Style Chee Cheong Fun contributes to Anchorvale Village reputation as a destination for authentic regional Chinese cuisine, serving both heritage-conscious diners seeking genuine dim sum experiences and food enthusiasts discovering traditional Cantonese breakfast culture. Their presence within this modern hawker centre demonstrates successful preservation of traditional dim sum preparation methods while adapting to contemporary dining expectations and community accessibility. The establishment represents the continuation of authentic Cantonese culinary arts within Singapore multicultural food scene, ensuring future generations can access traditional chee cheong fun prepared with techniques that honor the dish original Hong Kong origins and cultural significance.

For $4.50, I only got a pathetic handful of shredded bits of charsiew. I might as well go to a chicken rice shop and order charsiew fan with a big chunk of charsiew for just $1 more. I wish I could take a photo for you, but I couldn't find the photo upload button. This pathetic, kiamsiap business owner gives you pathetic, tiny little bits of charsiew. Pathetic ass. I will not come again. I felt like being conned :(((

I enjoyed this scallop cheong fun. The cheong fun itself was incredibly smooth and soft. The scallop filling was generous and well-seasoned. The light soy sauce and sesame seeds added a nice complement to the dish. A tasty and satisfying meal.

Great, tasty, consistent. If you want above average CCF, this is the place to go. Generous with their fillings, you are sure to get some prawns or char siew with every bite. Alittle stingy w the sauce, but apart from that, they are all good.

Ordered $3.50 plain chang feng. Was shocked that it was really damn plain. With no sesame sauce. I have to pour the oil and chili myself... Already not a great start. It is nothing like the other great hk style chang feng i have before. One bite in.... Okay super redeemable. Well make very silky and soft yet firm. Goes very well with the oil. I didn't pour enough so went back to get more oil. Dip into chili for the mild samba heat. If you like vanilla chang feng this is for you... If they can decide to add peanut or sesame sauce i probably will 5 stars them. Add some spring onion will help with photo taking.

Some 2 weeks later... Cannot eat vadai today :( Do read my visual review anyways... https://goo.gl/maps/8516mwPf2kHegEBf8?g_st=ac So, went upstairs to satiate the craving for freshly made CCF instead. Today I decided to try it with char siew filling... The minced meat looks and feels nothing like char siew -- no characteristic red tint nor a firmer bite! Taste wise, it's just okay. One thing that's consistent here and it irks me: their only sauce is way too salty!!! Even when you're lifting the rice roll pieces with chopsticks, you can't avoid the sodium! Luckily, the hot teh-O worked it's charm 😂 Looks like I shan't bother to travel this far for a food item that is starting to displease?! 🤔 I mean, if I wanted chee cheong fun that's "kiam", there's always nearby SK Square... ------- I didn't even notice they have been awarded a Michelin bib... Honestly, this kinda accreditation don't mean much to #MHTamChiak; just makes it harder to live up to expectations from paying customers 😂 So, unknowingly, I gave their chee cheong fun a shot... My, what a nice surprise :) Soft and thin CCF made on the spot is always preferred, and the sauce which went with it is flavoursome 😋 Just don't drink it as it's the usual salty stuff that's found everywhere 🤣 Will certainly be back to try their CCF with fillings. Definitely one of the better food items to have (with teh-O?) for a light snack anytime!

There wasn’t a long queue, and the skin was smooth with generous fillings. The chili was flavorful and complemented the dish perfectly.
